In pursuit of President Obama's policy of "engagement" with U.S. adversaries, the State Department has dispatched several senior envoys to Damascus for talks with the Syrian dictator. It has also nominated a new ambassador and repeatedly expressed the hope for a step-by-step improvement in relations. Were you kayaking at great falls yesterday? Posted: 26 Apr 2010 04:11 AM PDT We went to Great Falls yesterday. In the middle of the Falls there's a formation called "five fingers," it's in the bottom center of the picture below. At some point I noticed a couple of kayaks at the top of the five fingers. I figured that they couldn't go down the 4 falls on the left; they looked too steep. But soon the orange kayaker proved me wrong. After he completed the plunge, he was momentarily submerged but then righted himself. I believe - but am not certain - that he touched his head or made a similar motion as... |
