I originally saw this story in Viewpoint, the magazine of the National Council of Young Israel. It originally appeared at the IDF website (along with profiles of two other "handicapped" soldiers) with the title, There is no such thing as impossible. I can't explain it but for the past three weeks, I really missed baking. Baking with Matzah meal isn't baking; it's too coarse. Potato starch and ground nuts make for a better baking experience, I think. (Though I made only thing using that combination and it wasn't really baking.) So it felt really good to get back to baking Challahs and cookies for Shabbos last night. Looks good too. I think. But I forgot the Shlissel Challah. Maybe one of these years I'll remember....

In an odd article the other day, the New York Times reported, Palestinians Try a Less Violent Path to Resistance. It was odd for a number of reasons. One, is that it doesn't mention that the leaders of the PA still honor terrorists. Another is that the article talks about how Salam Fayyad encourages Palestinian building in disputed areas, which, for some reason is portrayed as a way to peace.
